In the build-up to our second Olympic Games appearance, we explore the design details of our exclusive Team Netherlands outfit crafted for Jean-Julien Rojer for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
The Design Brief
Using a palette consisting of a rich Dutch Oranje and brilliant white with accents of bright vermilion and cobalt blue, our brief was to craft an athletic ensemble worthy of a two-time Olympian competing in the 2016 Olympic Games.
The Olympic Ombré Jacket
We couldn't think of a better place than 2016 Summer Games in Rio to launch our new signature Ombré jacket so we decided to create an one-off Olympic version exclusively for Jean-Julien Rojer.
The Olympic Ombré jacket features a rich Dutch Oranje on the upper body and arms which transitions into brilliant white. We then added a white knitted jersey collar and matching cuffs to blend seamlessly into the ombré. The Team NL Olympic motif was added on the right chest to visually balance our hand-sewn latex logo and the Dutch national flag colours replace our signature red mesh lined zip pockets.
The Olympic Pro Crew
Our new Pro Crew Quattro has been given an Olympic reworking using Dutch Oranje with four brilliant white horizontal stripes across the chest. The Olympic motif of Team Netherland takes pride of place on the right chest with an enlarged GUNN logo balancing the left. Our signature sleeve and neck detailing incorporates the colours of the Dutch national flag.
The Olympic Pro Short
Retaining a crisp, fresh white silhouette for the Pro Short, the GUNN logo has been enlarged to meet the Olympic logo size specifications (and to match the Pro Crew) and we've once again included the Team NL Olympic motif on the right leg. A closer look reveals the Dutch national flag colours of bright vermilion and cobalt blue discretely used in the lining of each pocket.
